Job Readiness Training for Indigenous Youth

The Bridge to Employment Program offers unemployed or under-employed Indigenous youth 18 to 34 years of age with the opportunity to benefit from defined client interventions that will enable them to develop job readiness skills and increase their chances of obtaining and keeping employment.

Essential Skills for Success in the Bridge to Employment Program

The Bridge Program is a paid, 8-week, 240-hour workforce development initiative designed to empower Indigenous participants across Ontario. With three specialized streams to choose from, participants can gain valuable skills and hands-on experience in real-world settings.

This program is tailored to under-employed or unemployed Indigenous individuals, providing targeted
support to increase cultural awareness, enhance job readiness and improve employment opportunities. Through practical client interactions and skill-building activities, participants will be better equipped to secure and maintain meaningful employment.

Regardless of which program you choose, all participants will receive soft skills training on personal management, communication, presentation, collaboration, problem solving, job readiness, project management, resume building, financial literacy, interview skills, relationship building, community connections, and ongoing training opportunities.

Participants gain in-demand technical skills that prepare them for changes in technology and digital innovation.


This virtual program provides participants with an introduction to current digital technology applications suitable for the evolving world of technology.

Participants will gain employable skills in:

  • Digital Storytelling: podcasting, social media content creation, digital design, and more.
  • Coding and AI: Python 2, design software, and digital tech projects.
  • Website Design: including branding and marketing.

Beyond the tools, participants receive guided instruction designed to build confidence and technical fluency.

Whether you’re looking to enter the workforce, pursue further education, or launch a personal tech venture, this program lays a strong, versatile foundation.

Green Building & Sustainable Technology

This program provides participants with an ideal opportunity to explore a career in green and sustainable building. The course will demonstrate the core competencies in green design and building principles. In addition to gaining technical knowledge, participants will gain hands-on training in real-time projects led by certified carpenters.

When Are Programs Offered?

The virtual Digital Technology and Community Health & Wellness programs are offered every three months. The hybrid Green Building and Sustainable Technology program is offered less frequently and is subject to community interest.
